Restoring the garden at this castle estate
Castle Estate Mid-Limburg
Castle Estate Mid-Limburg
At this castle estate in central Limburg, BuroLandschap was responsible for creating a natural water landscape and implementing several formal interventions around the castle. The combination of a precisely designed garden area and an expansive, living landscape creates a striking contrast that enhances the character of the site.
Around the ponds unfolds a natural flower garden, accessible via winding forest paths. The layered planting—from forest edge to herb layer—was carefully composed, with particular attention to ecology, biodiversity, and botanical variety, including numerous roses.

The original landscape garden on this beautifully situated estate was carefully restored.
The stately old avenue has been renovated, forming a strong axis through the park once again. The natural park pond received a complete redesign, with a focus on both ecology and user experience.
At the entrance along the silver lime tree avenue, a new bridge structure was constructed, allowing the ponds to flow underneath. The bridge is located at the narrowest point of the water body and serves as a second gateway to the estate. The natural pond, with a water surface of over one hectare, also includes an island with a fire pit accessible only by boat. Boardwalks and two docks make the water both accessible and experiential, while a seating area oriented toward the evening sun invites visitors to linger close to the water.
